Raising a family out of the ruins of the past. Mothering and movies, grief and grace, books and blunders. Recovery without chicken soup.
"Make art, raise a family, have it all. In West St. Paul." DIY at its finest.
I'm not even sure what to say about this, except that my husband and I just sat here open-mouthed and then said, "We need to send this to EVERYBODY!" We went to college in St. Paul. I wish I'd met that woman, though - we'd have been fast friends.
I had the same reaction. And I can't stop humming the song. She reminds me of Miranda July - whose awesome website is here: http://noonebelongsheremorethanyou.com/
Wow - I just went to that website and you're right! Amazing! I also just sent that around to everyone I could think of; probably the same crew that got the West St. Paul video! She is awesome, can't wait to read her book.
Miranda July also made a beautiful film called You and Me and Everyone We Know. Here's the trailer: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0415978/trailers-screenplay-E24072-314
